Jihad at Fort Hood

The story of the murders at Fort Hood is still developing.

Base commander, Lt. Gen Bob Cone, told CBS (video) that there are "unconfirmed reports" that Major Hasan, the Ft. Hood shooter, was saying "Allah Akbar" during his methodical killing spree yesterday.

Fox News spoke to Hasan's cousin, who said that Hasan wanted to get out of the Army before being deployed (whether to Iraq or Afghanistan remains unclear).

Now, mind you, this is the mainstream media. After years and years of seeing them lie about the Balkans, if they said the sky was blue I'd have to verify it myself . So far, the spin is directed at talking up the soldiers' courage under fire. The fact that Major Hasan was a disgruntled Muslim is grudgingly noted, but not really dwelt upon. Watch the CBS reporter sigh when Gen. Cone mentions "Allah Akbar," then change the subject.

Another segment of the Fox News story was intriguing to me. Here's a quote from Hasan's former colleague, retired Colonel Terry Lee:

"He said maybe Muslims should stand up and fight against the aggressor... At first we thought he meant help the armed forces, but apparently that wasn't the case. Other times he would make comments we shouldn't be in the war in the first place."

The very fact that Col. Lee thought that "standing up and fighting against the aggressor" could even possibly translate into "help[ing] the armed forces" reveals a disconnect from reality within the U.S. military. Was everyone in Ft. Hood oblivious to the fact that some Muslims view them as aggressors?

It boggles the mind.

Didn't something similar happen at the beginning of the war in Kosovo? Wasn't there an incident where an Albanian soldier in the Yugoslav army killed a group of Soldiers in the barracks who were Serbian?

Well, it happened a bit earlier - in 1987, soldier Aziz Kelmendi shot up the dormitory at his barracks in Paracin. The KLA has since declared him a hero and there is a "patriotic" song about him now.

But yes, what happened at Ft. Hood does look like a case of Kelmendi.

I dont rember any Germans or Japoanese american citizens attacking our american miltary bases here at home during world war 2 . How many attacks had the Japanese committted before we locked up all of them up ,innocent and maybe thinking of terrorism ? How did will know the Japanese americans were going to attack us when they hadn't done it yet ? And how can we keep taking in muslim imigrants to be muslim amercan soldiers when they have attack our military bases at leastthree times . ? When will we decide to lock all of them up like we did to the Japanese .

I'm on the record against the internment of anyone. But I hear a number of camps have been built already, and the Army has been recruiting "resettlement specialists". So we may yet see that happen...

Are you referring to the FEMA camps? By the way, do you know by chance if anything happened to de-construct.net? They haven't posted anything since mid-September?

CubuCoko said...

The very ones.

I've noticed the lack of updates on de-construct as well, but have no further information. I'll see what I can find out.

It looks like the website is closed now, because starting today it wouldn't even open(at least on my set-up).
I think FEMA camps have existed for several years now, though I don't recall when exactly they were built. But I definitely remember hearing about them at least one year ago. Scary. I am currently reading "The Rise of the Fourth Reich" by Jim Marrs (wish I had more time). Haven't gotten to that part yet, but I am sure they must be mentioned somewhere in his book.

I'm getting a 404 myself. That's kind of sad, really.

FEMA camps do exist but they are only to be used in a national emergency which can only be issued by the president. That, however, is unlikely as it means that the president forfeits his powers. Anyway, back to the topic at hand.
The official statement is that he had no clear ties to Al Qaeda which means he cannot be an Islamic Terrorist, Muslim Terrorist, Islamoterrorist or whatever. Are Americans really this stupid? Then again, they thought, throughout the Cold War, that the capital of Socialism was in Moscow and that all who disagreed with Moscow were not Socialists or were Pseudosocialists.

De-Construct is back online and has posted a few new You-Tube videos, a few about Orthodox church and, I'm sad to say, the discredited Loose Change documentary.

I have a question about the now archived Byzantine Sacred blog: did the editor have to go into hiding after she received death threats?

That's the story I heard, HH, along with the speculation that it was the same people going after her that have been after me since June. I don't have conclusive confirmation of that, however.

As for the 9/11 documentary, I don't really want to judge one way or another. I heard the explosion at the Pentagon and saw the thick black smoke from the fire with my own eyes, but I haven't seen the plane. There's a lot about 9/11 that makes me scratch my head: lack of any fighter cover, cell phones working where they shouldn't be, the collapse of WTC 7 (which wasn't hit at all), the official story of Flight 93, Cheney being in the chain of command (where he didn't belong) and Bush being out of it, etc.

I don't think it was an inside job, but I do think the Bushites saw a crisis and decided not to "let it go to waste". And I am convinced that the U.S. establishment sees jihadists as a tool to be used in establishing global hegemony, either ignorant or dismissive of the fact that jihadists have their own agendas.

TENC's stuff on 9/11 is probably the most intellectually consistent.

"That's the story I heard, HH, along with the speculation that it was the same people going after her that have been after me since June."

What have the tried to do?

In attacking me? Primarily trying to Googlebomb me, posting derogatory remarks ("discredited genocide denier") on just about every web page that's trawled by search bots. I chronicled that in the post "Character Assassination".
As for her? I don't know the details.
